Engine
Woes Cut Short Season for Williams
The
strong finish to his rookie season in Formula 500s has come to an
end for Liam Williams due to engine damage that he suffered during
the latest round of the Victorian Stampede Series.
With
the engine damage to his # 62 VIC AutoBarn – Narrewarren supported
RTS car worse than first thought, Williams and his season have decided
to not complete the remainder of the season.
“Naturally
I’m very disappointed to have what was looking to be a strong finish
to the season end this way,” Williams expressed.
“Over
the past couple of months I have been running pretty strongly and
looking for few more podium places in the remaining rounds of the
Victorian Stampede Series.”
Now
with his season coming to an end, Williams, who was one of the leading
contenders for the rookie of the year prize, might just miss out
on one of his season goals.

“Yeah,
the rookie of the year award was something I was looking to pick
up, but it’s made that tough now with me missing the end of the
season,” he said.
“My
results up until this point have been pretty good as I was the highest
placed rookie driver in the Oval Express Series, won a round of
the Victorian Stampede Series and also finished on the podium at
another round, and finished inside the Top 5 of the Wingless Nationals
as well.”
In
regards to next season Williams and his team will make an announcement
during the off season break with their plans.
For
the 2007/08 season Williams is supported by: AutoBarn – Narrewarren,
Pedder’s Suspension – Dandenong, D&F Race Products, Thermo-Glaze
Bath Re-Surfacing, Hi-Tec Bathroom Maintenance, 3D Paint City –
Narrewarren, Jettco Developments, and Performance Metals.
